The
cooperative initiative is based on a few basic principles:
1. A common Project: it is important to walk towards a common project. Private donors are numerous as well as generous. Together, they can produce a more effective and result.
2. A Community: It is important to unite the donors and the beneficiaries to create a bond of partnership and to strengthen a sense of belonging within the community. In this way, the community becomes one body full of hope for the future.
3. A responsible role: it is important to foster a role of responsibility to provide development within oneself and independence in general. With the help of LCD, the beneficiaries will learn to rely on themselves, on their own will and determinism.
4. An identity: LCD’s primary objective is to help refugees return to their homeland to settle and build roots within the areas. To ensure these four basic principles, it is of utmost importance to support LCD financially and morally.

Documented Evidence of Mr. Joseph Halabi, a Founding Member

Despite the recent Lebanese economic crisis, which resulted from the
fifteen years of hardships that have affected the Lebanese society, the
dream has become a reality.
LCD, was founded by a group of people who truly believed in men and in Lebanon as a Land of co-existence.
Headed by late Reverand Father Youakim Moubarak, they worked, hand in hand, on a conviction that Love is an Act of Giving and Continuity.
Based on this conviction, there is little reason to worry about Lebanon’s future, as long as good intentions exist and sincere hands are extended to create, through this Cooperative, a better future.
May I call upon you, my friends, and let us work together, in support of the original idea which has no other goal but the well being of men, his dignified welfare and a more creative and more productive Lebanon.
With our Care, Friendship, Love and Compassion, across all the Lebanese regions, LCD can fulfill its objective in order to build a better future and a more worthy Lebanese Society.
We are thankful and appreciative to all those who have supported, who are still supporting, and who will continue to support the LCD’s objectives.
Joseph Halabi.
Founding member and President of the Supervisors' Committee.
Documented evidence from Donor Jean-Claude Boulos
LCD,
a cooperative founded in 1992 by the late reverend Father Youakim
Moubarak, provides Christians affected by the Lebanese civil war with
financial assistance to control the exodus from their villages to the
cities.
By contributing US$ 2000, you will help build the LCD economy to strengthen the solidarity between Christians. It will also help Lebanon to prosper.
With LCD, the hopes of many Lebanese will once again become realized.

Documented evidence of Mr. Tanios Fares, a Beneficiary
Married with six children, I was displaced from Rmeileh, my birthplace, in 1985 during the Lebanese war. Upon my return to Rmeileh, I rented land from the Maronite church. However, to improve it and make it profitable, I needed the help of LCD. They provided me with the finances to build green houses on the land.
This allowed me to reestablish my roots in my homeland and to improve my financial status. My family and I did not have to think of migrating out of the area to survive.
I wish to thank the
Church and all those who founded the Cooperative because it is only with
such institutions that we will be able to hope for a better and
prosperous Lebanon.
Tanios Fares
