The Financed Projects  

LCD as a credit cooperative that aims at financing individual projects by granting loans with low interest rates to strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit within the country.

The Decision Making Process

    1. Project site by General Director
    2. Applicants’ Project File studied by General Director
    3. File submitted to Committee of Credit Allocators with comments and
      recommendations made by the General Director.
    4. File submitted to Committee of commissioners with comments and
      recommendations made by the General Director.
    5. File submitted to Board of Directors with comments from committees of
      credit allocators and of commissioners.
    6. Approval or projections of Project File by the Board of Director.



The Financing of the Project

Financing loans for the project may be done in two ways:

1. Through local resources: contributions from:

-  Lebanese donors within the country ensure fund raising activities for the cooperative. Each donor contributes a minimum of two thousand US dollars.

- Activities carried out by the cooperative have included a Majida El Roumi concert and a lottery.

. Through international resources : Contributions from international charity organizations and from lebanese emigrants may be made by establishing contacts and explaining LCD’s objectives.

The Prospective Client and his Role  

The prospective clients are Christians, displaced from their regions. The loans are to allow the displaced to return to the regions to set up projects, to create economic activities within the region and to profit.

Completed project in 2009

In 2009 the Lebanese Cooperative for Development (LCD) allocated 56 Loans for a total amount of :

Those loans were granted to different economic sectors and regions of Lebanon.
